diary day 01

its 2:00am on the first day of January and I'm up in my room.me and my family just got back from church and somewhere down the stairs,i can hear my sisters laughing their heads off, having a sister is a pain in the arse but having two sisters is a pain in the arse,head,back,ears...everywhere and what could be so funny by this time of the day?,i ask myself.did they just discover a 2 minute magic cure for acne or are they just happy to see the new year....probably the latter.i ought to be happy too,its the first day of the year, firecrackers and bangers are going off everywhere..I'M ALIVE...yeah im happy(but why is there this hollow feeling inside of me)
i readjust my glasses and focus on the papers in front of me.i'm trying to write my new years resolutions but i'm having second thoughts considering the fact that i broke all of last years resolution just five days into the new year.this are my proposed resolutions for last year:
1.become a vegetarian
2.learn to speak french
3.learn to speak igbo(my traditional dialect)
4.be nicer to my sisters
5.plant a tree everyday
6.stop being a nerd
7.stop having crushes on random people.
WHAT WENT WRONG
now here is what went wrong, how on earth did i think i was going to survive been a vegetarian in this house where meals without meat would be like a jay-z video without girls in it.the first meal of the year was fried rice and roasted chicken(and boy was the chicken grinning up at me),i tried to resist but it was hard so i decided to taste the chicken and i promised myself that it'll be the last but here i am today the biggest customer of chicken republic,i eat chicken almost everyday.
i tried learning to speak french,i even enrolled for classes but after two classes(on the 3rd and 4th)i always found an excuse for skipping classes.i love french but i'll learn it when i'm 20(i promise)
my igbo classes were also a flop for my dear teacher(my good friend chidi)couldn't even say "i'm hungry" in igbo, our igbo sounded so english.it was like a blind man telling a deaf man how big the white house is.
i really tried to be nicer to my sisters but.....(its a long story).i love my sisters dearly but mom could they go on an holiday somewhere far away forever.
planting trees.i got the idea from a documentary about global warming and afforestation and how gloom will befall us if we dont plant trees.i did plant trees,(does planting bean seeds count as planting trees)..um,i think i'll continue this year.
stop being a nerd(my sister told me this).my reply:when u stop looking like a cross between a spider and aunt gwambadoogoo from the central african village district,i'll stop being a nerd.
crushes get you crushed so i decided to stop having crushes on random people until the new neighbour knocked on my door....

yeah,so u can see last years list was a flop,so i'm gonna make my new years list filled with more long term goals..so here are my new year resolutions
1.find God.
2.find happiness
3.find love(not crushes but love)
4.find amanda(i'll tell u more bout her shortly)
5.find myself.
6.find something new.
i can hear my sisters still shrieking downstairs and from them i get my motivation for my seventh resolution:
7.sell my sisters.

my facebook friend just asked if i've ever ridden a zebra in my backyard...i mean aren't animals everywhere in africa,he asked..i really couldnt answer this question..i might live in africa but i've never seen a giraffe, not to talk of a zebra even when i go to the village(country side)..the only wildlife i get to see are soldier ants and birds...most of the animals now live in a zoo or wildlife parks/conservation areas/game reserves....i think i need to visit a wildlife conversation area and get to ride on that zebra,my new year resolution 8.
more of my diary coming soon.
